Each survivor who walks through our doors is greatly impacted by our Donation Resource Center (DRC).

Rachel and her two girls fled from their abuser in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.
When they arrived at Sojourner Center they were given a space to rest until morning. Rachel felt worried about providing for her family by herself and wondered if she made the right decision. The following day, Rachel visited the DRC. Upon arrival, she and her girls were each given five outfits, bras and underwear, socks, pajamas, and hygiene products. The girls each picked out a new toy and Rachel picked out something nice for herself.
Each month Rachel and her family were in shelter, she shopped for clothes and accessories, household items, craft supplies, beauty products, toys, and even snacks. Rachel loves to read and on each visit to the DRC, she made sure to take advantage of picking out her three free books. She enjoyed being able to buy nice skincare for herself or a new toy her daughter had been asking her for.
The DRC was there to support Rachel in every season of her life.
In August, she shopped for uniforms and school supplies for her girls. In October, she was able to dress her youngest as a fairy and her oldest as a ninja for Halloween. During the holiday season, the DRC allowed Rachel to purchase new gifts for the children and herself, something she had not been able to do before.
When the time came for Rachel and her family to leave shelter and move into a place of their own, she received a $100 exit voucher. This allowed her to gather anything her family might need for their new apartment. She picked out a new couch and mattress. She was able to buy pots and pans for her kitchen and artwork for the walls. For the first time, Rachel felt excited about what would come next.
