Volunteers are an essential part of our mission at Sojourner Center. Our volunteer program provides opportunities for individuals, organizations, corporations, and community partners to help us better support survivors in rebuilding their lives. Take a look at our volunteer opportunities below!
Volunteer Opportunities
Donation Resource Center
Sort, organize, and distribute incoming donations to our campus community.
Shelter Advocate
Support our shelter operations with distributing resources, cleaning, and building community
Kitchen Support
Serve and prepare meals in our kitchen, which provides 3 meals a day for participants and their children.
Pet Companion Shelter
Kennel rotation, exercise, cleaning, feeding, and bathing to enrich the animals in our care.
Educational Advocate
Facilitate classes (ESL, financial literacy, yoga, art therapy, etc.) or provide GED tutoring. Expertise or certification required in some areas.
Youth Engagement
Provide a safe and engaging environment for our youth through activities.
Internships
Structured placements at Emergency Shelter or Transitional Housing under MSW Director guidance.
Campus Beautification
Deep-clean key spaces to create a healthy, welcoming environment for pets, children, and the community.
