Sojourner Center is committed to providing trauma-informed care for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking. As one of the few certified trauma-informed domestic violence shelters, we recognize the significant impact that these forms of violence can have on individuals and their families. We strive to implement this approach to care at all levels of our services, from daily interactions with participants to agency policies.

Crisis Shelter

Our Crisis Shelter program offers up to 120 days of safe shelter, supportive services and basic needs to survivors. Our trained advocates provide a non-judgmental and shame-free space, fostering positive relationships with participants.

Transitional Housing

Our Transitional Housing Program provides independent apartment living and supportive services for survivors. With a deep understanding of the events that brought them here, our case managers walk alongside participants to support them in achieving their goals.

Child Development Center

Our Child Development Center is a licensed, 4-star Quality First accredited school serving children from birth to age twelve. Our teachers create individualized lesson plans for students, combating the impacts of traumatic events on child development.

Community Outreach

Our Community Outreach program offers individualized services for survivors and their families in the community. Our case managers recognize that survivors are the experts of their own lives. They honor their unique needs by encouraging them to set their own goals and connecting them to helpful resources.

Pet Companion Services

Our Pet Companion Services provides pet care for participants in our emergency shelter and transitional housing program, allowing survivors to keep their pet family member with them in seeking safety. We recognize the importance of the human-animal bond and the comfort that pets can provide to survivors.

Donation Resource Center

Our Donation Resource Center provides participants in our residential programs with necessities and everything they might need to begin their new life. Participants are empowered to “shop” for not only what they need, but what they what, something they may not have been able to do before.

We are proud to be deeply rooted in the philosophy of trauma-informed care.
Our comprehensive services are designed to meet the unique needs of each survivor and support them on their journey to healing and self-sufficiency.
