Everyone deserves a relationship free from domestic violence.
Taking the first step by asking for help can be difficult. It takes courage, vulnerability, and sacrifice, but they all contribute to making a positive change in one’s life. At Sojourner Center, we are here to support survivors throughout their entire journey.
When survivors seek help from Sojourner Center, our team sets intentional and transparent goals to ensure success by the end of the participant’s program. For Emily, coming to Sojourner Center put her on the right path towards achieving her goals. Emily could track her progress and celebrate key milestones during her time with us by setting long-term and short-term goals.
During her four months at Sojourner Center, Emily’s focused mindset and motivation helped her meet her goals. She successfully completed her short-term goal of getting a job in either a restaurant or caregiving. Emily obtained a cooking job, bringing her back into the kitchen, a place she feels passionate about. She also achieved her long-term goal by finding an apartment for her and her children.
Emily regained her confidence and now leads a successful and stable life through her hard work and support from Sojourner Center case managers and staff.
