The National Network to End Domestic Violence is conducting its 21st annual Domestic Violence Counts survey on September 9th, 2026. The survey counts the number of adults and children who sought domestic violence services across the United States within a single 24-hour period.
The survey tracks the types of services requested, the requests that went unmet due to limited resources, and the barriers programs face in serving survivors. This data helps raise awareness about domestic violence and supports organizations that provide services to survivors and their families.
Sojourner Center is participating in the survey alongside about 2,000 other domestic violence programs across the country. The results help national and local organizations identify gaps in current services. Policymakers, journalists, and advocates use the data to push for more funding, shape policy, and inform the public.
