Girl Scouts is a youth organization focused on building courage, confidence, and character in young girls. Since June, a new troop has met at Sojourner Center once a week, giving children a chance to try new activities, make friends, and be themselves.
Children who witness domestic violence often experience effects on their self-esteem, relationships, and decision-making. Girl Scouts gives them a supportive space to grow, build these skills, and become part of a generation empowered to create a brighter future.
Five families attend the weekly meetings to connect with each other and their community. Their troop leader, Kelly, teaches entrepreneurship skills, guiding the girls as they create their own business and marketing plan.
