Every March, Women’s History Month gives us a moment to honor the courage, leadership, and resilience of women throughout history. At Sojourner Center, we are especially inspired by the women who walk through our doors every day who want to rebuild their lives and reclaim their futures.
This year’s theme, “Women Leading the Change,” resonates deeply with the women who lead Sojourner Center’s mission focused on transformation. Our Co‑Directors, Julie Peterson and Bailey DeRoest, dedicate their work to creating safe, stable, and empowering pathways for survivors. They help ensure that our programs remain trauma‑informed, survivor‑centered, and responsive to the needs of families seeking safety.
We are also grateful for the women working across every corner of our organization. Our advocates, case managers, program supervisors, support staff, and community partners show up with commitment to build a community where survivors can heal, grow, and move forward with confidence.
This month, and every month, we celebrate the women who shape Sojourner Center and create change in the futures of those impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking.
If you’d like to learn more about how Sojourner Center supports survivors, we invite you to explore our programs and share our mission with your community this Women’s History Month.
