Maria is a single parent working on her nursing degree, while working full-time to support her daughter after she made the courageous decision to leave her abuser.
As a participant in our Community Outreach program, our trauma-informed team works with her on safety planning and resources to lessen the chances of her returning to an abusive relationship. Maria is working hard and picking up extra shifts just to cover her rent and other necessities, leaving no extra money to put towards gifts for the upcoming holidays. Through Sojourner’s Gifting Hope Holiday Program, Maria will be able to provide gifts and wonderful memories for herself and her daughter this year.

Through our Gifting Hope Holiday Program, we are helping survivors to heal and create new holiday memories and experiences.
Our program provides the opportunity for our participants to select gifts for their families, free of cost as we support them with a personal shopper to help and encourage them as they work through this emotional time.

So how does Gifting Hope work?
Well, the answer is you! From now until Christmas, we are collecting gift donations from the community for participants to gift to their children and children to their parents. We’ve made it simple to shop for our participants by creating a detailed wish list and also gratefully accept any new items you think our families will enjoy. In addition to gifts, we are also in need of wrapping paper and large gift bags for our participants to wrap and transport their gifts from our boutique to their homes.

If you wish to help survivors of domestic violence like Maria this holiday season, see our
Gifting Hope Amazon Wish List to donate today!
