Summer in Arizona brings more than just soaring temperatures; it often brings an increase in domestic violence. When children are home from school, and families spend more time in close quarters, tensions can rise. For survivors navigating these challenges, access to safety and support is more important than ever.
Sojourner Center can’t meet these needs alone. Thanks to some generous support from our community, we’re putting together summer kick-off bags for survivors and their families to help them feel supported and refreshed during this intense time of year. These care packages include items like reusable water bottles, sunscreen, cooling towels, sunglasses, a calendar with free/low-cost summer activities around Phoenix, and a family voucher for the Arizona Science Center.
These seemingly simple items offer more than physical comfort. They remind survivors that they are not alone. That people in their community care about their well-being and want to support their healing journey in big and small ways.
When you give your time, your resources, or your encouragement, you’re doing more than donating; you’re helping us build a safety net that lasts beyond crisis.
Want to get involved? Consider hosting a donation drive or supporting Sojourner Center with a summer gift. Every act of kindness makes a difference.
