At Sojourner Center, we are always grateful for the outpouring of support from our community and partners who step up to make a difference in the lives of survivors. Recently, we had the honor of being part of an event hosted by SixDegrees.Org, a nonprofit founded by actor and activist Kevin Bacon. This event, which brought together employees from loanDepot’s Joint Venture team, highlighted the incredible power of connection and corporate social responsibility.

During the event, SixDegrees facilitated the creation of essential resource kits to benefit several organizations as part of their campaign to distribute 40,000 kits in celebration of the 40th anniversary of “Footloose”. Half of the kits made at this event will directly support individuals and families in the Phoenix area, while the other half are being sent to provide relief for children and families affected by the devastating California wildfires.

We are especially grateful to SixDegrees for their donation of 1,000 resource kits specifically for the survivors in our programs. These kits, filled with essential items, will help provide much-needed support to the individuals and families we serve, offering them a tangible reminder that they are not alone in their journey to healing.
