Liz Zelazo recently joined Sojourner Center as the organization’s Director of Philanthropy.
Liz has extensive experience in all aspects of nonprofit fund development and has helped nonprofits on both U.S. coasts reach or exceed their multi-million dollar fundraising goals. She has led the development departments of the world-renowned Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech and their five East Coast campuses, New Life Center, and the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, one of the top-ranked children’s museums in the country. Liz most recently held the position of Senior Manager of Grants and Stewardship at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona.
From 2012 to 2013, Liz volunteered as a youth theater adjudicator for ariZoni (a non-profit organization that was created to promote the visibility and growth of theatre in the Valley of the Sun and Maricopa County). She also volunteered as an adjudicator for ASU Gammage’s High School Musical Awards program in 2016. That same year she helped establish a West Valley subset of the community-led philanthropic group 100+ Women Who Care. She was a co-leader of this group from 2016 to 2019.
In her spare time, Liz enjoys listening to podcasts, spending time with family, and taking long walks with her three-year-old Goldren Retriever, Bruschi.
