Healing from domestic violence and breaking the cycle of abuse requires more than physical safety. It involves rebuilding self-worth, recognizing healthy connections, and learning to set boundaries. That’s why our Healthy Relationships Group, part of Sojourner Center’s Community Outreach Program, is such a vital resource for survivors.
This support group is designed to educate participants on what healthy relationships look like, equip them with tools to identify red flags, and help them develop the confidence to foster healthier connections in the future. Through trauma-informed care and supportive group discussions, survivors have the opportunity to redefine their relationships—not just with others, but also with themselves.
One survivor described the impact of the group, saying:
“The Healthy Relationship Group has been so helpful for me. It has taught me how to become a strong woman and is giving me the tools for healthier future relationships. I am so thankful for its impact on my life.”
