Sojourner Resource Center

Victims of domestic violence often escape with nothing but the clothes they are wearing. Sojourner Center offers an on-site resource center where participants can select new and gently used clothing of all sizes and styles. Participants shop using a voucher system, free of charge. We are not a thrift store and we are not open to the public. Our staff takes great care to fill our racks with clothing that is up to date and appealing for all ages.

Donate Items Q & A

Q: Does your donation pass the “love test”?

A: If you would willingly give your donation to a family member or loved one, it passes our “love test” and we will coordinate a convenient drop-off time. If something is outdated or in need of repair we will not be able to accept the donation. All clothing donations go straight to our racks.  We do not expect all items to be on hangers, but we ask that all items be clean with no stains.

Q: How do I make an appointment?

A:  Email the Resource Center Team at donationcenter@sojournercenter.org. Let us know which of the items you are interested in bringing in and the day that works best. We will do our best to contact you within one business day to schedule an appointment. You may also reach us by phone at (602) 253-9180.

Q: Where are you located?

A: Donations are dropped off at our Resource Center located at 2330 E Fillmore Street, Phoenix, AZ 85006 (between Van Buren & Roosevelt)

Q: Do you offer pickup service for clothing?

A: We do not have pickup service available for clothing

Q: Do you take furniture donations?

A: Yes.  We are currently in need of bed frames in twin, full, and queen sizes.  We are also in need of couches in very good used condition or new.  Other items will be taken on a case-by-case basis due to our limited storage space.  If you can, please send pictures to donationcenter@sojournercenter.org and we can arrange for a pick up or drop off appointment.

Q: Can you take all of my donations?

A: We are only able to accept items that can be used for participants in our programs. Items that are damaged or obsolete are discarded.

Q: What do I do when I arrive for my appointment? Do you follow social distancing?

A:  Please pull into one of the designated “ Donation Center” parking spaces. Ring the black doorbell at the door and staff will come out to assist in unloading items. We will also provide an In-kind Donation receipt for your records.
