Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven for adults and children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed over 60,000 lives through our programs and services. One of the easiest ways to make a difference in domestic violence survivors’ lives is through a tax credit donation to Sojourner Center. You can donate up to $400 per individual or $800 per couple in our name. Your donation will allow us to keep survivors safe and aid them in rebuilding their lives after abuse. You will then receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona state taxes. It’s that simple! For more information or to make your gift, visit www.directyourtaxes.org.

Another great way to help domestic violence survivors is by helping us create a healthy space for them to flee to. Many survivors come to us with little to nothing and we want to give them the best possible environment for healing and growth. Sojourner Center has volunteer opportunities for individuals, companies, churches, and schools that help us to ensure our space is just that. From helping flip crisis shelter rooms to teaching a weekly class on how to manage your finances, volunteers are a huge part of our participants’ journeys. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them. To get started, visit www.sojournercenter.org/volunteer.

At Sojourner, we know that healing doesn’t just rely on a new space or lifestyle classes. Our participants must get back to a sense of normalcy. Our Donation Resource Center provides a space for participants to buy items for their families that they normally would not be able to afford. Your donations of clothing, baby items, towels, bedding, toiletries, books and toys make it possible for our participants to feel normal again. Lastly, spread the color purple proudly. Purchase purple lightbulbs to switch out your regular outdoor home lights and don’t forget to wear purple on October 20th.
