Grace, a sexual and domestic violence survivor was in need of Sojourner Center’s services and support.
In fleeing from her abusive 40-year marriage, she needed a safe place to stay while she focused on counseling, safety planning and filing for a divorce.
With the help of Sojourner Center’s Sexual Violence Case Manager, Grace created an action plan and set long and short-term goals for herself. Despite facing several financial and emotional barriers and setbacks, she continued to stay focused and make progress in her healing journey.
With hard work and determination, Grace found safe housing of her own, set healthy boundaries for herself, achieved financial goals and set a final date for her divorce hearing. These achievements are a testament to her resilience and courage. Grace now feels safe. She is proud of how far she has come and is confident that this is only the beginning of her story.
