Sojourner Center, with AZTV Morning Scramble host Lisa Schneider-Cipriano and Mix 96.9 personality Mathew Blades, are enlisting the Phoenix community to take a pledge against domestic violence this holiday season.
“Current events in 2014 have spotlighted how domestic violence is not just a private family issue or a woman’s issue. Domestic violence affects everyone in every community,” said Maria Garay, M.S.W., Ph.D., Chief Executive Office of Sojourner Center. “If we are going to achieve a world free from domestic violence, it cannot be avoided or swept under the rug anymore. We need to build support systems across our communities, and we can start by standing together on this issue today.”
Over 8,700 individuals rely on a continuum of services provided by Sojourner Center to escape the grips of domestic violence each year. From emergency shelter for women and children to prevention and education programs in the community, Sojourner Center helps families traumatized by abuse begin the process of building new, violence-free lives.
Take the pledge to stand united against domestic violence by donating today. Learn how gifts made to Sojourner Center prior to December 31, 2014 also qualify for an Arizona Tax Credit here.
