Sojourner Center is proud to provide women and children with a high level of care and support. Sex trafficking is an extreme form of violence against women and children that has deeply impacted our society, particularly as it has moved onto the Internet. We have seen the increase in sex trafficking that Backpage has caused – and we have continued to work with the victims who need our help.
We are committed to continuing to welcome every victim of violence who walks through our door, including sex trafficking victims. We are proud to join this suit because Backpage must be held accountable for the tremendous harm it has caused to women and children in our community, throughout the country, and throughout the world.
