a man in a hat

Meet Jim, our dedicated Maintenance Technician at Sojourner Center!

From minor plumbing and electrical work to carpentry and landscape maintenance, Jim’s day-to-day is never dull. His passion for helping others stems from personal experiences, as both he and his wife come from families impacted by domestic violence.

When his wife informed him about the job opening at Sojourner, Jim felt drawn to the organization’s mission. As time went on, he became deeply committed to the cause, understanding the transformative impact the center has on participants’ lives.

Jim’s favorite part of his job is witnessing the positive changes in participants throughout their stay. He takes pride in the thought that he might have played a small role in their journey toward healing and renewal.

As an essential part of Sojourner Center’s team, Jim wants everyone to know that the organization takes its mission seriously. Participants who seek refuge and support here can be assured of maximum attention and care as they work towards rebuilding their lives.

Outside of his work, Jim immerses himself in his love for Blues music, with a massive album collection. He also serves as the president of Phoenix Blues Society, dedicating his spare time to preserving and promoting the genre in the Valley.

Thank you, Jim, for all of your hard work!
