PHOENIX – Burly Sons Moving & Storage, a Phoenix, Arizona moving company, and Sojourner Center, the largest domestic violence shelter in Arizona, have announced a partnership to provide women and children impacted by domestic violence moving assistance at no cost.
The alliance serves to raise awareness about domestic violence, which currently impacts one in four women in the United States. Providing free moving services will allow women and children to worry less about how they’re going to transport their belongings and concentrate more on their future. This partnership also sends an unmistakable message that Burly Sons supports Sojourner Center and its mission to create a world free from domestic violence.
“Domestic violence is a public health issue that affects our entire community. Addressing it requires a unified effort across all sectors of society, including businesses, which play a crucial leadership role,” said Maria Garay-Serratos, M.S.W., Ph.D., Sojourner Center Chief Executive Officer.
“We are forever linked to developing a stronger community presence and keeping money local,” said Alesha Bush, Director of Business Development for Burly Sons Moving & Storage. “In particular, our efforts to bring awareness to domestic violence and offer relocation services, allows our company to focus priorities on assisting those families in need.”
Burly Sons Moving & Storage will offer free moving services to families receiving assistance from Sojourner Center. For more information about moving assistance and Sojourner Center, please visit www.sojournercenter.org.
