There are many ways to become involved as a Vanguard at Sojourner Center. Whether you are an expert at hammering nails, cleaning, or building, or if you love to spend time with children, Sojourner Center can find the best possible match for your interests.
If you would like to begin volunteering your time at Sojourner Center, we ask that you attend one of our introductory tours first. Sojourner center offers three tours a month that give you a glimpse into the organization. Click here for a list of upcoming tours and to learn how to sign up!

Current Individual Vanguard Positions Open:
Communication and Support Specialist
Tuesdays through Saturdays – 10am to 4pm.
We are looking to fill approx. 10 positions working directly with our participants at Sojourner’s Second Treasures Donation Center. You will be responsible for shopping with the women and assisting them in with their needs list when they first arrive and when they are leaving shelter. This will be a great support for the families.
Resource Associate
Monday through Saturday availability – Weekly commitment needed
Like you and your family, families at Sojourner Center need personal care items like shampoo, soap, lotion, etc. Sojourner Center provides these items through your in-kind donations and we are looking for Vanguards to assemble needs bags requested by the individual families at both Campuses. Responsibilities may include keeping and managing our inventory of personal care items and filling out request documentation paperwork. This opportunity can be completed by individuals or a small group of 2-3 people in a span of three hours per week.
Hope Tour Co-facilitator
Three times monthly – First Tuesday from 6 – 7pm, First Saturday from 10 – 11am, Fourth Tuesday from 12 – 1 pm
If you have been inspired by a previous Hope Tour and want to share your enthusiasm and passion for the mission, call today to find out how you can join us in hosting one of these tours on a regular basis. You will also assisting in calling some of the tour attendees to get feedback about the tour and see if they would like to become more involved with Sojourner Center.
